New Milford residents, take note—this summer’s book sale is more than just a community event. According to the official notice on friendsnmpl.org, the 2024 Annual Summer Book Sale will be the last one for at least two years, directly due to the New Milford Public Library’s upcoming construction project.
Held at New Milford High School, the sale runs for three days only:
- Thursday, July 11: Early Bird Hour (9–10 a.m.) – $5 admission | Free entry from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, July 12: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, July 13: Final Day – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with all books at half price!
This is your final chance before a multi-year pause to stock up on thousands of gently used books across every category—fiction, nonfiction, children’s, cookbooks, and more.
The Friends of NMPL emphasize this key message on their website:
“Due to the library construction, this will be our LAST book sale for at least 2 years! Think ahead and STOCK up!!”
